Also, I heard that the narration was rewritten for American audiences -
not to dumb it down amazingly, but because American audiences expect
documentaries to be factual.

score. I don't know if there any editing differences but perhaps the

        I don't think that version was ever released in the US anyway,
but it should be available from Amazon France. 

        I can't see why a US vender would carry the French version, but
I assume you can get it easily on Amazon France.
