No big surprise re:  Videos for College Libraries.  One of my favorite phrases 
as of late:  Video is the Redhaired Stepchild in the academy.

I vaguely recall that the old Bowker guide to rental videos (Wish I still had a 
copy) tagged audience level.  Perhaps the question of "Whose core list" could 
be addressed with an audience tag:

G - General
E -  Elementary
H - High School
C - College and University

I'm happy to put forward a handful of additional titles to get the ball rolling.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues 
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition,bibliographic control, 
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and 
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective 
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication 
between libraries,educational institutions, and video producers and 
distributors.
