Thank you, Gary. we are using your textbook as we proceed our way
through this course. It's been very useful so far.
And thank you for pointing out how sites such as DVDBeaver.com differ
from both Pratt's newsletter and Video Librarian because they depend
on people to buy product from their links. That's something we hadn't
considered. I'm assuming Blu-ray.com is in the same boat?
Though we are aware of other review sources, we have confined
ourselves to these five and would appreciate any thoughts from college
video librarians out there on what they like (or don't like) about any
or all of the following.
•Video Librarian
–DVD-LaserDisc Newsletter
–Blu-ray.com
–Entertainment Weekly
–DVDBeaver.com

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
