No need to reinvent the wheel....

Tho the market is ever changing, much of this information is already gathered
on the National Media Market site. http://nmm.net

Under the Resources link:
Digital rights available from National Media Market exhibitors,
PDF <http://www.nmm.net/forms/DigitalRightsMaster.pdf> (44 KB)
Microsoft Excel <http://www.nmm.net/forms/DigitalRightsMaster.xls> (44 KB).

Subject: videolib Digest, Vol 39, Issue 70

Hi All:

I'm trying to put together a viable list of vendors who supply streaming video
services, either per title (rights only or short-term streaming "rental"
service) or in true, online database format.

If possible, please provide:

1) A link to or list of your titles and services for academic libraries
(e.g.: ability to generate durable URLs for linking to individual clips or
entire films from within course management software such as Blackboard)

2) Annual subscription and one-time purchase models (including package,
collection, single title, and title interchangeability options)

3) Access method and technical requirements (e.g.: UN/PW; IP-authenticated
site license with unlimited simultaneous users, including remote/off campus
access; special hardware/software, etc.)

4) Policies regarding PPR, educational use, and streaming services

5) Policies pertaining to digital rights licensing/clearance with original
film producers or rights holders (limited number of years in license or true,
"in-perpetuity" models)

For all those vendors who have already gotten in touch with me about this from
previous posts - many thanks!

I greatly appreciate all of the fantastic help and advice I've discovered on
this listserv - thanks to all!

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
