Script City is another source much like Script Fly (http://scriptcity.com/), though I wouldn't characterize much of what they sell as necessarily "published." These are often drafts or shooting scripts that haven't been bound, and tend to cater to working writers and actors who just want a pdf or quick copy.
For more traditionally published final shooting scripts, we often purchase from Newmarket Press and Faber & Faber, both of which sell a lot of the newer contemporary titles and/or the collected works of major figures. The UW Press also has a nice but small series of screenplays from Warner Bros. (http://uwpress.wisc.edu/warnerbrothers.htm), and a microfilm set with more titles. Some scripts with wider commercial appeal also find their way hidden a bit in fan-focused, illustration-heavy publications, such as Craig Byrne's book on _The Dark Knight_. If you have access to International Index to the Performing Arts (Proquest), it actually indexes scripts published in screenwriting magazines. If you put "screenplay" as a document type limit, you can search for titles that way. --Diana Diana King Librarian for Film, Television and Theater UCLA Arts Library |1400 Public Affairs Building | Box 951392 | Los Angeles, CA 90095-1392 Telephone: 310-206-4823 | Fax: 310-825-1303 | Email: [email protected] ________________________________________ From: [email protected] [[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] [[email protected]] Sent: Monday, February 21, 2011 12:54 PM To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [Videolib] Sources for screenplays Alexander Street Press: http://alexanderstreet.com/products/afso.htm but it ain't cheap! > Scriptfly here in Southern Calif.
