I've been on the Loud family mailing list for years...they keep promising
to put out the AF on DVD, but nothing as of yet.

That IS interesting and it reminds me to ask, is it possible to purchase
the original An American Family??? I know I've looked a few times and
haven't been able to find it.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of
issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic
control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in
libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve
as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of
communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video
producers and distributors.

Looking for a DVD of Thom Anderson's documentary. I have a feeling that the
rights issue is daunting enough to prevent this from being released, but if
anyone has information about it, please let me know!
Thank you,
Michael

We got ours directly from Thom Anderson. We'll look around and see if we
can find an address for you.

Years ago you could buy a vhs copy from the filmmakers, Alan And Susan Raymond.
Although they don't have it posted it on their current site but do sell some
of the follow-up programs they've done on the Loud family.
Here's their current info:
