For anyone besides me who forgot what the Georgia State case was about, it is book publishers suing a university for copying their materials in electronic (digital) course packs.

(Apologies for any X-posting)

Greetings from the sunny mountains,

Here is an update on the Georgia State case written by Kevin Smith at Duke University.

http://library.duke.edu/blogs/scholcomm/2011/03/23/gbs-and-gsu-two-cases-going-forward/

He first discusses the Google Books settlement case and then the Georgia State details follow afterward. To summarize, last Thursday, Georgia State’s motion for dismissal of the case due to state sovereign immunity was denied and the case will be going to trial on May 16th.
