Greg Smith is an adjunct here at AU and has had a 25-year as a
Hollywood sound man. Early this Spring he donated to the AU Library a
decent collection of sound effects he's recorded over the years with
the wish that they be made openly available. We've just finished
converting them to MP3s, putting them in ZIP files, and adding them to
our institutional repository. So they're now freely available. NOTE:
The collection is just 1450 total tracks at this time so it is hardly
comprehensive but would serve as a good complement to Hollywood Edge
or BBC collections.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
