I don't know if it's the same thing, or the legalities of its existence, but
there is a four-part documentary on the Drottningholm posted online:

> OK... This one is tough and I am stumped....
>
> I have a faculty member looking for a copy of an old film, later
> released on video - in the 1990's - on the Drottningham Palace Theatre.
>
> Here is the detail that I have...
>
> When I was an undergrad at the University of Washington I was involved
> with early music performance on original instruments (Baroque fiddle)
> and I remembered seeing a documentary film on the Drottningholm Palace
> Theatre directed by Gunnar Fischer (OCLC # 4280457 ). I was impressed
> because it documented the restored 18c stage machinery found in the
> theatre. I found an excerpt on YouTube
> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EdRUdoKfPvo and in exploring WorldCat I
> found out that the film was reissued on videocassette sometime in the
> 90s (OCLC # 38447571).
>
> WorldCat description of the film:
> Gunnar Fischer
> 1970-1978?
> English Visual Material : Motion picture : Film 1 film reel (30
> min.) : sd., col. ; 16 mm.
> Stockholm : Svensk filmindustri,
>
> WorldCat description of the video:
> 1990s, 1966 English version.
> English Visual Material : Videorecording : VHS tape 1 videocassette
> (28 min.) : sd., col. ; 1/2 in.
> Stockholm : Svensk Filmindustri : Swedish Institute [distributor],
> Surveys the history of the Drottninghom Court Theatre both as a
> monument of baroque architecture and as a working theatre. Shows
> scenes of its auditorium, stage and museum collections of theatrical
> paintings and costumes, as well as backstage vignettes of actors in the
> wings and dressing rooms preparing for a Royal Swedish Opera
> performance of Gluck's Iphigenia in Aulis....
>
> About 9 US Libraries have it in either 16mm or VHS (according to
> WorldCat)... One of them Penn State, so I wonder if this was at one
> time in the PA State AV Services rental collection.....
>
> Any leads?
>
> Thanx.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
