There are a few stores in New York City that sell them reconditioned, even though some of them date back to the early 1970's they are very expensive, and heavy to carry. I was lucky and won a 1980's era Sony on Ebay for 100.00 some years ago. Are you looking to transfer a few tapes, or have one to use on a regular basis?
