Hello Everyone, We're at a pretty exciting time at the library in that we're taking some big steps towards really growing the entire collection. However, in our internal conversations we've come to the, probably obvious conclusion, that we need some references to help us along the way in regards to collection development (i.e. what in the world should we be putting on our shelves??!!). My guess is that this is something discussed periodically but I'm interested in any recommendations the list could offer in terms of what are resources you use (print or otherwise) in shaping your sometimes very specific collections. I would appreciate any replies off list. Thanks in advance!!

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
