Following the success of its first cycle, Pragda's new initiative which offers grants to North American universities to program Spanish and Latin American Film Festivals announces a new call for submissions. Universities can select films from a catalogue of 20 new titles carefully selected with the aim of introducing students to the cultures and languages of these territories. Forty three universities have already been approved for the program and festivals have been taking place since June 2012 in universities across Canada and the US. VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition,bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries,educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
