Some years ago I was keen on Conrad Veidt and Anton Walbrook and collected what
I could find of their early stuff via ebay (my personal foray into the realm of
dubious copies). Walbrook is in Viktor und Viktoria and my VHS copy is as
Jessica described--very casually labeled, and I remember it as having no
subtitles. I think it was pretty poor quality (perhaps due to pal-ntsc transfer
or perhaps originally a poor video version) though not as bad as some. There
are now 4 clips on YouTube, looking pretty good; there is a lot of visual
comedy.

Thanx Jessica.

There are copies on ebay.de and WorldCat shows a couple copies in German
Universities, certainly PAL and in German.

We have First a Girl which is in distribution.

I guess it will remain one of those wished for titles.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues

preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
