Hello Matt,

We have had some students and faculty use Kickstarter.com and
indiegogo.comas a way to try and generate some funding for their film
projects.

If you have not already, you might want to check out these sites and read
their blogs or see if there is information on the sites themselves.

You might also do a quick search using Lexis Nexis to see what the media
has reported on these sites. I quickly searched kickstarter and film and
got nearly 500 hits. Not all of them were relevant.

Best,

Phil Hallman

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
