Forgive me if this has already been said, but how about the movie "The Rock"
where a cable car blows up?

The movie "Metro" with Eddie Murphy has a scene where a guy is shooting at
Eddie while riding a cable car about 53 minutes into the movie...Trolley
goes out of control, people are flying off, it hits cars, etc.

WHO FRAMED ROGER RABBIT pops into mind, with a significant part of the plot
hinging on streetcars and public transit.

Thanks for the FM recs by the way, Danette :)

How about the opening sequence in *The Phantom Tollbooth*? Milo takes a
streetcar home to his SF flat before the film goes animated. Also opening of
*The Doris Day Show.* Maybe *The Conversation* has sequences showing
streetcars passing Union Square (not sure)? *Star Trek IV: the Voyage Home*
bus sequence. Are you sticking to the U.S., Nell? Because there?s a great
short film set on a streetcar in Germany, * BLACK RIDER (SCHWARZFAHRER)*
(available from Film Movement on the disc with INCH'ALLAH DIMANCHE). Happy
Friday everyone! ?Danette@Duke
