Hi everyone,
Does anyone have a contact at PBS that might be able to assist with PPR
for Call the Midwife and Mr. Selfridge? These titles aren’t available
through the movie license we have and we sent an email to PBS via their
website
but haven’t gotten a response yet.
Good morning, Desiree...

What kind of PPR are you looking for? As an authorized distributor for
PBS Educational Media, the product sold through Vide-O-Go as noted below
includes limited public performance rights on all titles designated as "AV"
versions.

Masterpiece: Mr. Selfridge (UK Edition) DVD - AV Item
Vide-O-Go Item No.: PBSMST74308
List Price: $69.95
Description: Created by Emmy® Award-winning writer Andrew Davies, Mr.
Selfridge brings to life the story of American entrepreneur Harry Gordon
Selfridge, the colorful and visionary founder of Selfridge's, London's lavish
department store. Pioneering and reckless, with an almost manic energy, Harry
Selfridge created a theater of retail for early 1900s Londoners.

AV Benefits:
Why the AV version? Because it provides additional usage options for PBS
videos. AV versions come with limited performance rights so they can be
shown in classrooms, at PTA meetings, during after school programs, and
transmitted on a closed-circuit system within a building or on a single campus.

They also can be enjoyed in admission-free public screenings, which also makes
them ideal for use by library patrons and businesses involved in community
clubs and organizations.
Limited public performance rights are included with videos designated as
AV or Indexed. These videos may be shown in a classroom or screened by a
public group, for educational purposes, when no admission is charged for the
viewing. These programs may be transmitted on a closed-circuit system within
a building or single campus. Your purchase does not permit you to
duplicate or alter the program for any purpose, to distribute the program
through
any wide access network (internet, open cable, open broadcast, LAN,
satellite, telco, etc.), or to digitize, encode and/or place the program on a
digital server.
Wishing you continued success...

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
