Hi Chris,

We have been a long term subscriber. I have only had a few direct
experiences with the product, but I do know that it is used in at least
Jewish Studies, but I believe it gets some use elsewhere (I call up a demo
video to demonstrate quality video interview technique). As Anthony noted,
in the past access was kind of a PITA to be honest. For understandable
privacy reasons, one needed to make a request for a video, then host
transferred content locally on a resident server. There was also some
problems with the video player working on certain browsers.

Anthony correct me if I am wrong, but I believe they have made improvements
with a newly designed online presence (not certain if the clip request and
server process is still not required). The player problem still existed a
few months ago, but I believe they were working on a fix that should be in
place by now.

Let me know if you want more info. I can put you in touch with our Jewish
Studies Librarian.

Best,
Scott

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
