Jessica! I can understand your frustration, but remember: it's WorldCat and not
AmerCat!

"WorldCat is a union catalog that itemizes the collections of 72,000 libraries
in 170 countries and territories which participate in the Online Computer
Library Center (OCLC) global cooperative. It is built and maintained
collectively by the participating libraries." - Wikipedia

And frustration can go both ways: imagine you are a German librarian, looking
for the record for an Iranian film, and the only record you can find is for one
in....English!

Ich wunsche Ihnen ein glückliches neues Jahr!

Cheers!
Anthony

Titles are even worse. Nothing more fun than trying to find a film Worldcat
lists with a German title for an Iranian film or in Cyrillic.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
