I do lots of instruction but media related. Mostly, I'm teaching software or
processes to classes that have a media based assignment - for example, this
week I gave an overview of video project planning, camera use, and an intro to
Adobe Premiere to an English Shakespeare class who have an assignment to
produce a trailer or a scene from a play they have studied with a modern day
adaptation and also to a nursing class to show them how to add audio narration
to powerpoint slides to make narrated presentations for distribution. I also
participate as needed with bibliographic instruction - that is usually only 1-2
workshops a semester at the heavy instruction time when all the freshman
English and Communications classes are having their library instruction session
so many of us chip in and help.

Subject: [Videolib] library instruction

Do any of you academic media librarians out there take part in your library's
instruction program?
and if you do, are you one of the team, delivering the same content, or do you
present media-related content?
thanks for any information you can share--
M.T.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
