I am looking for translation and captioning services for a video we made. (We have it captioned in English already.) We want to do English to Mandarin and to Korean. In investigating others on campus who have used services we learned of one service whose product required a 30% adjustment to the translation to get accuracy. That seems high and unless I could read these languages it might be full of errors and I would not have a clue. This made me wonder if they used a speech recognition product and not a person. Anyway, I am wondering if someone has a service they would recommend that produces a good product and can output an SRT file. Thank you!
Kathy Evans Purdue University [email protected] VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
