Greetings! If I may say so, the VRT had a most successful record of achievement
for 2013-2014.

Among other accomplishments:

* Began holding last September monthly Executive Board meetings via
Adobe Connect

*         Redesigned our membership brochure

*         Revised our bylaws

*         Codified our governance document

*         Improved our ALA webpage

*         Solidified our Facebook presence

We ended the year on a particularly high note at the recently concluded ALA
Conference at Las Vegas-including:

* A well-attended "Happy Hour" at the Gordon Biersch Brewery and
Restaurant

* A well-attended and most productive Annual Membership and Executive
Board meeting (with serious work commencing on planning next year's Gala and
other programs for ALA Annual-San Francisco)

* Three very well received VRT produced programs:

1. "Leading Successful Media Production Services in Academic and Public
Libraries: Different Models, Perspectives, and Recommendations"

2. "Video Librarianship 101 (Public Libraries)"

3. "Video Librarianship 101 (Academic Libraries)"

Credit for this success must be accorded to our extraordinarily hardworking and
dedicated VRT Officers and Voting Executive Members for 2013-2014:

*         Susan Pennell - Treasurer

* Julia Churchill - Notable Videos for Adults Committee, Chair

*         Shelly McCoy - Secretary

* Matthew Windsor - Membership, Chair

* Scott Spicer - Past Chair, VRT

* Elizabeth Myers - Programming Committee, Chair

* Andrew Horbal - Web Master

* Brian Boling - Communications Committee, Chair

Finally, there are two other individuals I should like to particularly single
out for praise:

* Danielle Alderson - ALA Staff Liaison, whose great assistance and
wise counsel through the year has been most invaluable

* Laura Jenemann, Chair-Elect, VRT, a better chair-elect there could
not be and whose great assistance and wise counsel has been likewise most
invaluable

As you know, Laura has taken over today as the new Chair of the Video Round
Table. I am utterly confident that under her leadership, the VRT will
accomplish yet even more in 2014-2015. It should be a most exciting year.

Thank you all very much.

Cheers!
Anthony

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition,bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries,educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
