I am trying to get information from any academic research libraries who use
the Purchase Delegation feature for buying videos (or other media and
books) directly from Amazon.com. Has this method worked for your library,
and how satisfied is your acquisitions unit with this? Our library has
used a jobber for many years to purchase videos from Amazon, but that
arrangement is ending, and I need to hear from anyone about your
experiences (positive or not) ordering directly from Amazon. I need to
gather some information about how this method of purchase works to compare
with some other models we are examining. Thanks so much.

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
