Greeting:

An update on the rulemaking by EFF:
https://www.eff.org/press/releases/eff-fights-common-sense-again-dmca-rulemaking

Copyright Office: http://copyright.gov/1201/

One area not addressed (& I'm not sure it worth addressing) is region
codes. A search on the Copyright Office's site reveals some past public
comments:
http://search.loc.gov:8765/query.html?style=Copyright&col=loc&cn=Copyright&charset=iso-8859-1&ht=0&qp=url%3Awww.copyright.gov+url%3Awww.loc.gov%2Fcopyright&qs=&qc=&pw=100%25&ws=0&la=en&qm=0&st=1&nh=20&lk=1&rf=2&oq=&rq=0&si=0&qt=dvd+region+codes
I am actually not sure if this issue has ever been passed or denied by the
Office; likely denied.

Regards,

Cathy
VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
