Hello all,

I am currently working as an intern on some film programming for an
academic journal that deals with social housing issues and the built
environment. I was hoping that some of you might have some insight as to
the following:

1. We are working to incorporate a curated film programs or competition
into broader events, and seek resources for developing a call for
contributions or entries. Guiding texts or examples to illustrate the
necessary components would be great. Distribution channels for an eventual
document or promotional text would be helpful. I realize that this is not
the typical purview of videolib, but I did have some experience in research
and programming for film events as a graduate assistant in a media
collection, and am hoping that others may be familiar with this process. I
figured this also might be a good forum to consult about programming in an
academic and research context.

2. More standard of queries to this list, we are trying to find films and
directors dealing with housing topics, particularly with regard to social
housing and the relationship of the built environment to public health and
society. The scope is global, and could include short or feature length
works. Any index that might be available would be of help, and any title or
director suggestions are welcome.

Thanks for your consideration, any replies can be made on- or off-list as
you see fit. Please let me know if any clarification might help.

Best,
Nik

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
