Hi all: A faculty member at the American University Washington College of Law asked if I would find 3-4 responses to the following two questions for a student clinic research project :
How much do college and university libraries spend on DVDs and/or Blu-rays (broken out is better, but any number is good) - on an annual basis, perhaps over the last 5 years (in case there’s an interesting/relevant trend)? How many DVD’s and/or Blu-Rays are held in college/university library collections (aggregate, average, whatever you have) Could you take a moment to reply to me? Tell me just the stats for your own library. I am not looking for an aggregate number for all media library, just individual library numbers so I can say Y University spends XXX dollars on DVDs, and has X # of DVDs and X# of blu-rays. I would very much appreciate it. VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control, preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and distributors.
