Dear Eileen,

for best quality you need the Medusa version from Italy, last year published on Blu-ray (region code B).
http://www.blu-ray.com/movies/La-Ciociara-Blu-ray/113647/
http://www.amazon.it/Ciociara-Sophia-Loren/dp/B00NO1SMD4/ (of course there is no PAL as mentioned on the amazon site)

It's the restauration from Cinema Forever. Of course no English subs. You need the subs from elsewhere or as an alternative use a title list.
Here is a comparison for the version from Cinema Forever on DVD

The DVD (PAL version) is still available in Italy.

Best

Betreff: [Videolib] Two Women [Correction]

I should have mentioned I was referring to the 1960 Vittorio De Sica movie starring Sophia Loren.

Dear CW,

Is there a good DVD release of Two women in Italian with English subtitles?  We just purchased the 2014 dubbed English release on DVD.  The picture could be called okay, but the sound is iffy.  Also, there are no subtitles or closed captioning.  I see that it has been released numerous times on DVD but by companies not known for releasing quality products.   If anyone has pull with Criterion or another quality company, they should recommend Two women as a project for them.

Thank you for any information you can provide.
