Ah the irony. Remember when Fox News sued Al Frankin over his book L*ies
and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them: A Fair and Balanced Look at the
Right, *claiming
that they owned the copyright on their "fair and balanced" ( they
eventually withdrew it).

However this case does raise a number of issues that are not so simple.
There is a somewhat similar case that does not bode well for them. The fact
that something is on social media does not necessarily deprive it of
copyright and "fair use' by major corporations even those involved in news
is in the eye of the jury/judge

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
