Hello!

Even though I select films to show at my medium-sized public library outside of
Chicago, I'm getting a little out of my depths with this new demand: Showing
newer Polish films. For our "new releases" (in English) movies, we have MPLC
and Movie Licensing USA which covers pretty much anything we want to show.
But, I've mostly exhausted all of those two licensing companies' Polish
selections (NOT MANY!). I have tried to contact individual distributors that
I've found through specific Polish films I'm interested in showing but they
either never get back to me or do not want to deal with a public library.

Does anyone know of a good Polish film distributor/licensing company who is
willing to work with libraries? Or at the very least, a good foreign film
distributor that might have access to more than just one or two newer Polish
films?

Money is not necessarily the issue here. We have a decent programming budget.
It is more the obstacle that I really do not know where to turn next.
Everything I try seems to be a brick wall.

The librarian who would be hosting these works part-time but, if need be, she
does speak, read and translate Polish.

Thanks much,

VIDEOLIB is intended to encourage the broad and lively discussion of issues
relating to the selection, evaluation, acquisition, bibliographic control,
preservation, and use of current and evolving video formats in libraries and
related institutions. It is hoped that the list will serve as an effective
working tool for video librarians, as well as a channel of communication
between libraries, educational institutions, and video producers and
distributors.
