Surely it's not beyond the wit of text-to-speech programmers to have a mode that ignores lines beginning with ">" ? > message. I get even more frustrated by programs which automatically > include the quoted message and provide no easy way to chose between > including and not including the text at the time of starting the > reply. Most people these days use graphical clients, so removing the unwanted text is just one drag and delete. People just can't be bothered.
