If you use IMAP server folders in VM, you might see this message occasionally:
Folder's UID VALIDITY value has changed on the server. Refresh cache? Unless you know what this means and were expecting it, it is a good idea to answer `no'. I have noticed that connection problems with the server sometimes make VM think that the UID VALIDITY value has changed. I haven't been able to figure out how to isolate these problems. There is no harm in answering 'no' and continuing. If the UID VALIDITY has indeed changed, VM will ask you again next time you try to work with the server (and keep on asking until you say `yes' and let it refresh the cache). To find out what UID VALIDITY means, please see the manual section on "IMAP server folders". Cheers, Uday
