I enjoyed this too, and the picture almost as much as the music; keep them coming, Stuart! Is Cabral the composer or the player of the accompaniment, or both?
Thank you Jocelyn. Cândido Drumond de Vasconcelos is the composer (or, just possibly, the arranger) of these pieces for machete from 1846 and Cabral composed the simple guitar accompaniments. Machete and guitar accompaniments are on opposite pages in the MS. Stuart
