interesting idea. eugene opened up a similar train of thought not too long ago with his "la folia" thread. my initial reaction to your post was to say "it's the singer (or musician - federico tarazona - in this case) not the song." but i'm not an academic and i don't believe that playing a piece in a historically prescribed manner or with an historically authenticated instrument, is the exclusive, preeminent way of playing it. isn't "hotel california" by the eagles as fascinating musically as "see to my cattle?"
