I'm really confused. WMS support is really a missing feature for viking. But I not yet integrate it.
Recently, I changed some logic in viking. The current map layer only support tile oriented servers. These servers are defined by GObject instance. Such instances can now be instanciated by configuration file: maps.xml. IMHO, the definitive WMS support will require a refactoring of the current map support. This will introduce two sort of maps: tile based and WMS based. But this needs a huge investigation for me. So, I propose to expect the version 1.0. Then, I will work on integrating the current WMS patch. But IMHO, WMS servers must be defined by a GObject scheme, like I did with for tile based servers.
