I fully agree this. Viking claims to be a visualizer and editor for
GPS data, but it is not really user friendly on this aspect. Or at
least, nowadays other softwares have such feature with really
different feeling.
So, it is a necessary refactoring for viking. Perhaps something before
viking 2.0? :-)

It seems to be an interesting feature. Furthermore, I think it could
be really easy to add this directly on viking, as a "filter" on the
track.
