Hi all,

As you can see, I released an other "development" release, before 1.0.
This release includes mainly some bugfixes.

I know there is lot of really interesting patches waiting for
integration, but I wish to release a 1.0 as stable as possible. IMHO,
this goal is quite easy to reach now. I plan at least an ultimate
"development" release before 1.0. This release should fixes the issue
related to "automatic refresh cache" feature.

As you probably know, some versions ago, we started to include a new
feature to automatically refresh the local tile cache. Initially, this
feature uses If-modified HTTP property. But OSM servers stopped to use
them. Then, we added timeouts to avoid continous refresh. Jocelyn also
started to rewrite this feature using the "etag" HTTP property. As far
as I know, this rewrite is not yet complete.
Finally, the feature is not really stable, delete cache and
over-consume bandwidth (if I focus on bad things).

So, I think the better for viking 1.0 is to revert these changes and
plan a support for a future version. Furthermore, I have the feeling
that such optimal refresh could be provided by other project:
replacing curl by libsoup for example.
What's your opinion?

Any people interested in reverting the feature?
