I did an update to 0.9.96 for pkgsrc, and it seems to work fine (for what I do, which is look at gpx files of tracks and waypoints on osm mapnik and terraserver topos). I have not committed the update yet because pkgsrc is almost done a freeze for a quarterly stable branch - I'll commit as soon as the freeze is lifted.
