Hi,

As you cetainly noticed, there is a lot of changes currently in
viking. I wish to introduce one of them: SPOTMaps.

In begining of september, Spot Image, after many month of work,
decided to release a TMS service offering some of their imagery data
(currently only France, but will certainly evolve). But, like the Bing
Maps announce this week, these data are freely available in the
context of OpenStreetMap. Septics will say "why viking?" The answer is
quite simple: many viking's users I know use viking for cleaning their
traces before publishing them to OSM.

I started to work on this before service was opened officialy. But,
this work conflicted with a recent priority: releasing 1.0.
Since 1.0, I reworked my patches concerning SPOTMaps and I finally
published them. So, you are welcome to fetch master branch and test
this (over France).

As Bing Maps offers a similar service since few days, I also started
to integrate this service in viking. Technically, it's already
working. But I have to add some features to viking in order to respect
Bing's license. Be patient.

Happy Hacking!
