No, "unfortunately" not, these are garmin gpx map 60csx track logs.

Old hardware, IBM Thinkpad T43, 2GB RAM, 
Intel(R) Pentium(R) M processor 1.86GHz single core.
Perhaps it's just my Hardware thats to weak.

No, just my 2.5 IDE drive.

No problem, I am still very happy with viking.

Probably the code could be change to not display 30.000 points
but just do "simplify" them on the fly while displaying.

E.g. if I am az zoomlevel "32 pixelfact" it's impossible to distinguish
between these 30.000 track points anyhow,so I think they could be merged to
3000 or less for display without noticing any difference.

But now that I did some test, I think it got better with the skip-same patch,
now viking is still usable, slow but still usable and does not crash.
