Hi,

I'm one of the team producing OSGeo's live dvd sampler. The idea
is to collect the best FOSS geospatial apps and put them together
pre-installed with sample data and mini-tutorials, to be given
out at conferences, try without the hassle of setting anything
up, etc. Besides the knoppix-like live DVD you can boot from a
USB drive or download the virtual machine image. We've included
Viking on it from Ubuntu 12.04 (version 1.2.1), and have some
(intentionally short) overview and quickstart docs to go along
with it.

I was wondering if someone(s) from the Viking team could look over
what we've put together and let us know what we've forgotten, or
what's great in the 1.2.1 release which we don't mention, or
anything else. We're sending things out the the translation teams
about now, so to avoid double work for them the sooner the better.

.. and of course you're more than welcome to subscribe to the
live-demo at osgeo dot org mailing list & get more involved
if you like.

thanks,
Hamish
