Hello guys,

Viking doesn't accept German umlauts when running in English on my
desktop PC with attached keyboard.

However, when I use Viking on my notebook with English language, then
German umlauts like ä,ö,ü, are no problem entering them by keyboard.
But when I use Viking on my desktop PC, the German umlauts can only be
entered when using Viking with German language. When I use Viking with
English language, the German umlauts are refused by the app. When I try
to enter e.g. ü, the word is missing this key. Instead of "München" I
get Mnchen.
On the other hand, when I open a viking file, that I produced with
Viking in German or on my Notebook (no matter what language on the
Notebook), the German umlauts are displayed correctly. Yet I can't enter
new umlauts into this file, unless I open it in Viking with German
language, when I want to edit it on my desktop PC.

I have never experienced that strange behavior in any other app on my
Ubuntu-System.

Konfiguration of my desktop PC:
Viking: viking 1.5.1

Kernel: Linux 3.13.0-32 generic
Distribution: Kubuntu 14.04 Trusty 64,Bit-PC (AMD64)
KDE:4.13.2
Standard system language: German
Qt-Version: 4.8.6
Keyboard: Bus 002 Device 004: ID 046d:c326 Logitech, Inc.

With honest regards,

Christoph
from Kiel, Germany
