Ah, good.  Might be useful as the target of a command mode "map", as the
complement to Brendan's insert mode version.

Actually, I just did some more playing around with Brendan's map
commands.  I think for me, these might do the trick:

    ; in insert mode, ignore the brackets without leaving insert mode 
    map! ^[[200~ X^H
    map! ^[[201~ X^H

    ; in command mode, do a non-autoindent insert, end in command mode again
    map ^[[200~ ^Ai  
    map! ^[[201~ ^[ 

I might be able to live with this.
