0. open xterm. you can make it wide and tall. 1. cd $VIMRUNTIME/doc # in shell 2. vimdiff -u NONE version6.txt version6.txt 3. :set nu<cr><c-w><c-w>:set nu<cr> 4. 50% 5. with the mouse, grab lower border of xterm window and change height of xterm window either x2 times smaller or x2 times taller, whatever your display allows it. 6.While holding mouse button, notice how active pane is repositioned with the resize, but the other pane is not repositioned. 7. release mouse button. now two panes became desynchronized. if you press arrow key, the other pane jumps into place.
