Hi there,

I'm having some trouble compiling vim 7 on solaris

direction.

This is what I see when I compile it :

When I look in the config.log, I can see that there are errors
there too, but I really don't know what to do about them.

Here's (part of) the config.log. I haven't included all of it, cause it's
quite long.

This file contains any
messages produced by compilers while

running configure, to aid debugging if configure makes a mistake.

It was created by configure, which was

generated by GNU Autoconf 2.59. Invocation command line was

configure

--

It seems you've got X11 installed but that configure cannot find the libXpm library.

Try installing whatever package provides it, including any "development"
package.

On the SuSE system I'm using, that would be the "xorg-x11-libXpm" and "xorg-x11-libXpm-devel" packages. The names may be different in your Solaris distribution.

Or else (NOT recommended), compile a console-only version without clipboard by using the --disable-gui --without-x options to configure.

Best regards,
Tony.
