Bram is trying to set up new mailing lists on Google groups.
The success of this wiki is IMHO dependent upon getting the mailing lists
working again, so I've been a bit cheeky and made a new template, then put
it in Template:Tip and on the Main Page.
The new template displays a brief but prominent message at the top of each
page, with a link to the discussion on the new mailing list arrangements.
To reverse this (which I think should happen in late August):
- Remove "{{TipNews}}" from the Main Page (or revert).
- Remove "{{TipNews}}" from Template:Tip (or revert).
I contemplated adding a parameter to Template:Tip so it would only show
TipNews if some parameter is set. However, it didn't seem worthwhile.
I think we may as well keep Template:TipNews because it may be useful in the
future.
