Hi, thanks for the response. i do want to use gvim as my editor to edit the tex file, but unfortunately i need a special input platform for my native language, which has conflict with the gvim+vim-latexsuite combination.
i have also put the hushStdout in .Xdefaults, but just as in the manpage of xdvi written, that errors or warnings will still be printed to stderr even if the option is used. i guess the only way to fix the problem is to let the xdvi absolutely normal work, since there are no error, there will also be no output.
