Hi,

thank you all for the responses. I think i've found the reason why the
pdftex generated the pdf file directly. There is a STRING ``pdftex''
in the preamble of the tex file (\usepackage[pdftex,bookmarks]
{hyperref}). If i remove it from the tex file, then i get a dvi file.

Hmm, that's weird because i could get a dvi file sometime with the
very same tex file.

Anyway, thank you again for the help.
