You could always try something similar in your own .vimrc... For
example, on one line:
au VimEnter * call IMAP('EAL',
"\\begin{align}\<cr><++>\<cr>\\end{align}\<cr>\<cr><++>", 'tex')
[ note: while we're deprecating things, you should probably be using
mathtools instead of old-and-busted amsmath. :) ]
