I had the same thing happening (but also for other packages) and have noticed 
that the menu where one could 
choose packages was not starting with what I expected. Both types of behaviour 
went away when I removed a 
html file ("supporting a package.html") that had been residing in my 
~/.vim/ftplugin/latex-suite/packages 
directory. Maybe you have an irregular file in the package dir, too?
