thats exactly what i try to do with
 let g:Tex_CompileRule_pdf = 'mv -f tmp/* .;dvipdf $*.dvi;mv -f *.log
*.aux *.dvi tmp'
in ~/.vim/ftplugin/tex.vim

it works, but i'm sure this is not the best haking. Perhaps a "native"
solution would be better.
