May I suggest ZoomWin -- that's at 
http://vim.sourceforge.net/scripts/script.php?script_id=508.
When you  :he <something>, then <c-w>o (that's ctrl w, then press o).  
That'll make your help
full screen.  Typing another <c-w>o will restore the previous windows.
